WUC’s ESL program acupuncture school California students rely on — small classes, three levels (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced), vocational English geared toward TCM studies.

Eligibility note: ESL courses at WUC are only available to students enrolled in our TCM degree programs (MSAHM). If you are not yet enrolled, start with Admission or MSAHM.

About the WUC ESL Program

WUC offers English as a Second Language (ESL) — also called English as a Foreign Language (EFL) — for non-native English speakers. Courses run in small classes so students receive individual attention from their teachers, alongside cultural and social activities of the school and surrounding community.

The goal of the ESL program at this acupuncture school California students choose is twofold: improve vocational English and prepare students for TCM studies. Course content adapts to students’ English ability, interests, and needs.

Each level teaches: conversational English, grammar, reading, listening, comprehension, writing, and vocabulary. Students may take each level as many times as necessary to pass the qualifying exam for the next level.

Beginning

Foundation English

For students with little prior exposure to English. Focus on conversational basics, fundamental grammar, simple reading and writing, and core vocabulary.

Intermediate

Building Fluency

For students who can handle basic conversations but need more grammar depth, expanded reading comprehension, structured writing, and listening practice.

Advanced

Academic & Vocational

For students preparing to handle academic TCM coursework — advanced grammar, technical vocabulary, complex reading, and writing for clinical/academic contexts.
