Professor, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Job Location: San Jose, CA — Main Campus

Job Duties

  • Work with other Faculty in the Department of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (TCM) to prepare course materials (syllabi, homework assignments, class lessons, handouts, and exams) in the areas of Acupuncture, TCM, and Chinese Herbology. Course materials must be prepared in both English and Chinese.
  • Provide students with a thorough knowledge of traditional and modern meridian theory, including point location, functions, indications, and treatment planning.
  • Deliver in-class lectures in both English and spoken Mandarin. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Clinical training at the on-site WUC TCM Clinic — supervise hands-on training, focusing on accurate needling methods, techniques, and precautions.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group guidance for the California Acupuncture Board licensing exam.
  • Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers.
  • Reevaluate and revise curricula, course content, and methods of instruction based on feedback.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Conduct research in TCM research journals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Acupuncture, or a closely-related field
  • Acupuncturist’s License issued by the California Acupuncture Board
  • 1 year of experience as a TCM Practitioner, Doctor, or closely related profession

Professor, Business

Job Location: San Jose, CA — Main Campus

Job Duties

  • For business classes, prepare course materials — including syllabi, homework assignments, in-class lessons, handouts, and exams.
  • Deliver in-class lectures. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Advise and assist the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to develop course materials that incorporate business knowledge integral to operating a TCM clinic. This includes computerized management systems, business operations practices, and business ethics — tailored to the specific needs, challenges, and clinical intricacies of a TCM clinic.
  • Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers. Hold office hours.
  • Reevaluate and revise curricula, course content, and methods of instruction based on feedback.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Support the Dean and University President to oversee business academic programs and support functions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree
  • 1 year (FT equivalent) of teaching experience as a University-level Instructor and/or Teaching Assistant
