Campus Life: Student Clubs at Whitewater University in California
The student clubs at Whitewater University in California shape life beyond the classroom — from the Student Government Association to Qigong, I Ching, Martial Arts, and 3D Printing. Five active groups, all open to enrolled WUC students.
Student Life at Whitewater University
Outside the lecture hall and clinic, the student clubs at Whitewater University in California give MSAHM, MSCSE, ESL, and CEU students space to practice TCM-aligned mind-body disciplines, explore Eastern philosophy, and pick up modern technical skills. Membership in any club is free for enrolled students, and the WUC Student Association coordinates events open to the wider Bay Area community.
WUC Student Association (SGA)
The Whitewater University Student Government Association is dedicated to making positive changes on WUC’s campus. Our role is to advocate for student needs and concerns and to improve every aspect of the college experience.
As an organisation, we are always looking for student input and opinions — what’s working, what could be better, and what kinds of events the WUC community wants to see next. We encourage all WUC students and alumni to participate in our association, regardless of program.
The SGA also acts as the umbrella body for the four student-led clubs below: the Yi Jing Club, the Qigong Club, the Karate & Martial Arts Club, and the 3D Printing Club. Each is funded and supported through SGA programming.

Four Student-Led Clubs
Each of these student clubs at Whitewater University in California runs on a self-organising model — funded by SGA, member-led by current students.
The Yi Jing Club
Hosted by the WUC Student Association, the I Ching is an influential text read throughout the world — providing inspiration to religion, psychoanalysis, literature, and art. Originally a Western-Zhou divination manual (1000–750 BC), it was later expanded with the “Ten Wings” commentaries. The Yi Jing Club provides a teaching and discussion forum for students who want to understand the philosophy of Chinese culture and the theory of Qi.
Open to enrolled students AND to the public / wider community.

The Qigong Club
Soft Qigong cultivates wholesome power, physical equilibrium, and Zheng Qi (true chi) through dynamic practice, mindful breath, and structured movement. The club examines different styles and types of Qigong so each student can determine which exercises suit their particular body and goals. Students remain aware of their physical limitations while practicing.
Open to all enrolled WUC students. No prior experience required.

WUC Karate & Martial Arts Club
Drawing roots from Karate, Tai Qi, Wing Chun, and several other traditions, the Martial Arts Club teaches hard-style and soft-style movement, kicking and punching, throwing, ground fighting, hand-to-hand combat, and the use and disarming of weapons. Anyone who has studied multiple martial arts knows the arts share common origins — this club makes those connections explicit.
Open to all enrolled WUC students.

The 3D Printing Club (3DPC)
WUC 3DPC was founded in 2017 with the goal of bringing 3D-printing technology to students on campus. The club accomplishes this through CAD design classes, 3D-printing expertise sessions, and an on-campus lab equipped with multiple 3D printers reserved for student use. Membership is open to all WUC students — no prior experience required.
Open to all WUC students — no prior CAD or printing experience required.
Why Student Clubs at Whitewater University in California Matter
A TCM-aligned curriculum already overlaps with mind-body discipline, ancient Chinese philosophy, and modern lab work. The student clubs at Whitewater University in California extend each of those threads into voluntary practice — making the philosophy livable, the bodywork habitual, and the tools accessible. New students who join at least one club consistently report stronger cohort connections by their second term.
